The Baltic countries of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia shared the same fate at the end of the Second World War. They were occupied by the Soviet Union. The refugees from those countries were scattered across the globe. Wherever they landed, they became valuable and loyal citizens of the countries that welcomed them (refugees, DPs or displaced persons) But they did not forget their roots. They built communities of culture so that future generations would not forget the language and traditions of their parents.

In the 1990s, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Baltic countries became free. They are now members of the European Union and Nato. So, what happened to the children, grandchildren and even great -grandchildren of the refugees? Come and see.
